Comments: Thanks for dedicated site, it's given me a window to the history of the musical scene in Christchurch, where I lived for nearly a decade. So saddened to see the tragedies of the current Earthquake's rising human toll and architectural chaos unfold, on such a beautiful City. :)

Jim wood formerly with Bobby Davis and the dazzlers.The Saints, and a short stint with Max Merrit,and Diamonds,there is a lot of history that appears to be missing from that era and yes i`m still alive. venues i gigged at Copper Cat,Top of the house,Hibernian Hall,Zodiac Lounge,American Base Sarfari Lounge,and a few others.From 1958-1963.Cheers jim wood. :D

Comments: In the 1950s a new restaurant named The Malando opened in Colombo street. I seem to remember Doug Caldwell and Trio performing there. Can that be confirmed or is my memory failing? Regards, John

Comments: Me again. I did fill with the Secrets in 69 on keys between Stan White and Ledlie Cleland. (ah yes the Vox Continental and my 64 AC30. The Holy Grail(s) back then. Can't remember who was going and who was coming. I just remember I almost missed the brith of #1 daughter Bridgit 14/6/69. Geoff and the Rat were, and still are, an inspiration. Nev C
