Robin Smith Photography Limited was the business of Robin Vaughan Francis Smith who worked as a farmhand in Darfield in the late 1940s, and in 1958 some of his photographs appeared in the New Zealand Holiday the journal of the New Zealand Travel and Holidays Association Inc. In 1963 he opened his own photography studio.
