David LaPlanche ...

David's musical career began at the age of 11, winning a talent quest in his home town of Waimate singing Buddy Holly's "Oh Boy".  He was soon in demand playing in his own bands and performing at nightclubs, dances, cabaret shows, Caroline Bay Christmas carnivals and private functions throughout New Zealand.  Australia beckoned and he did a variety of work including cabaret, RSL and leagues clubs, also appearing on Australia's number one music show, Brian Henderson's "BAND STAND" and other TV shows.  David also entertained the American troops on "R n R" from Vietnam.  The UK beckoned and in London David won a talent quest which included cabaret shows in Scotland, Germany, Italy and all over the UK.  David headed back to Australia and New Zealand doing nightclubs and cabaret work plus touring around New Zealand doing a Cliff Richard tribute show.  David has performed other shows such as "The Music Of Bobby Darin", "Cliff and Elvis, the Early Years", "6 of the Best Performing the Songs of Cliff Richard, Elvis, Bobby Darin, Ricky Nelson, Buddy Holly and Johnny Cash".  David particularly enjoys the work he does with children at schools and was a finalist in the Coca Cola NZ music awards in Auckland with his children's CD "A Hand Full Of Songs".  David and his family now live in Sydney, Australia where David is working on his music career.
